The craziest thing you'll ever do in life is NOTHING!

greatest thing you will do is nothing

Which one of these comforting, convincing excuses are you telling yourself at the moment?

  • I don’t have enough time
  • I don’t have enough money
  • I don’t have enough experience
  • I need job security
  • It’s too late for me
  • I’m scared
  • I don’t know where to start
  • I’m too old to do it
  • I’m too young to do it
  • I don’t know how to do it
  • It won’t work for me
  • It never works for me
  • I’m waiting for the right time
  • Nobody understands me
  • I have no support
  • I’m just unlucky
  • I can’t do it

I know I've told myself these excuses and replayed them in my head hundreds of times over the years. And the more I said them, the more gross and pathetic they started to sound and I started to feel. I bet excuses come in handy whenever you're about to try something new or do something you fear too.

Playing small might guard our delicate egos from failure and public criticism. The problem is that it will also hold us back from attempting to do something amazing and wonderful.

What's the craziest, most absurd, far out thing you would love to do or least try?

Is it to leave the corporate world? Travel the world? Write a bestseller? Step foot on every continent? Cure cancer? Start a movement? Rescue animals? Compete in a sport? What else?

What cities, road and routes do you want to explore? What cool new things do you want to learn? What hobbies would you like to try? Who do you want to meet? What kind of career do you want? What personal challenges would you like to overcome? How could you stretch yourself? How would you change the world?

What are you waiting for?

Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.
— Jack Kerouac
